Moo Minicards!

A few months ago, Klout teamed up with Moo to offer 100 free MiniCards to some of its influencers. (I forget what the perk criteria was... something like topical influencers with scores over 40. I don't know.) The point is, I had the opportunity to order 100 Minicards for free!

I thought, "Sure. Why not?" I'd heard of people making business-type cards for their writing before--something tangible to centralize all of their contact information. Eventually, I'll have excerpts and things on my website, so it'll be nice to have cards on hand.

So, I went ahead and ordered them...

Nothing like building the anticipation...
Okay, if they're excited, I'm excited. How are they going to look?!
Note how they go from being a cold, business-driven company to some fun, quirky friend you want to hang out with. Nice...
Yay! And wow. You would not believe how thick these little things are. Very well made.
Here's the back. All of my contact info, plus a QR Code you can scan with a smart phone.
Cute things keep popping up! This is in the little keychain holder I got to keep them in. It was only five bucks and after getting 100 Minicards free, I wanted to invest in something to keep them nice. :)

That's right. They threw in pass-alongs with coupon codes on the back. Sheer genius.

Not only were the cards some of the flippin' cutest things I'd ever seen, but from a marketing standpoint, Moo blew me away. Their packaging is friendly and engaging. It creates a rapport with the customer, and it really works for them.

I mean, here I am, singing their praises. It must work.

So, if you're ever in the market for things to pass out at writers' conferences or whatever, you might consider looking into getting some of these. I"m kind of in love with them. :)

Have a great week/weekend, guys! ♥

  1. I had the same Klout perk and got some too and I absolutely agree with you on how exciting it is to get these. The packaging was wonderful and they are thick enough that even if you don't get a case for them (I didn't), they won't bend and fold too easily. I've been carrying some in my purse for a couple of months now and they're still as perfect as the ones still in the box.
And I love the design on yours! Simple and engaging=)

  2. @Kathleen - That's great! I was wondering if anyone else took advantage of that perk. I'm so glad to hear you loved yours, too! What did you end up doing, design-wise? :) Oh, thanks!

    1. Thanks, Jeff! I thought so, too.

Ah, that's okay. If you don't ease yourself into the social media stuff, it can get a bit overwhelming. One step at a time. :)

      Have a great weekend!

  5. I was sitting here at my desk, glancing at my to-do list. I looked at the "Get business cards made before conference in February" and thought "I think I want to do that next!" Then I saw "Comment on blogs," and thought "Ooo! I want to do THAT first." No joke, yours was the first I opened. What timing! I am shouting a huge THANK YOU in the direction of Ohio. (Did you get it?) I want to get some happy ones now, too!

    1. Too weird! It must be fate. You're destined to have super cute business cards for your next conference! :)

Oh, so that's what that was! I think I caught the tail end of it ("Ooooo!") and assumed it was the wind. Silly me!

You're very welcome! I'm glad I could help. (And you totally have to show me how awesome they turned out, after you get them!) :D

    2. I finally got them ordered! I loved their ordering process. Thank you again! I want to show them to you. But not AFTER I get them. Right now! :D I'm headed off to look for your email address right now. If I find it, I'm going to email you a .jpg.

  6. Wow. I have the old-fashioned business cards that don't have a QR code. I plan to someday wear QR codes for my blog as patches on my shoulders, for when I go to science fiction and fantasy conventions. I'm not kidding.
Did you have to supply the QR code, or did you just give them a URL and they composed it?

    1. Hi, Mark! I just used one of those websites that generate QR codes, saved the image, cropped it, and placed it on the back of the design.

Wow! That's a great idea for a convention! I'd love to hear how that goes. :)
